MikePrice Help
Customer-group prices for Shopify: tag a customer, give the tag a price, and that customer sees and pays it.
Set up in three steps
- Create a group. In the app, Groups → add a group. A group is a customer tag (for example
wholesale). Add customers to the group by tagging them in Shopify admin → Customers. - Set prices. Prices → Choose product → type a price per variant and group, then Save. For many products, import a CSV or Excel file (see below).
- Turn on the storefront display. Online Store → Themes → Customize → App embeds → enable “MikePrice prices”. Checkout applies the group price automatically — no theme code changes.
Price syntax
12.50 | fixed unit price in your store currency |
20% | 20% off the retail price |
1:12.50;12:11.00 | quantity tiers: 12.50 each from 1, 11.00 each from 12 |
1:20%;24:30% | tiers can be percentages too |
| (empty) | no group price — retail applies |
CSV and Excel import
Upload a CSV or Excel (.xlsx) file, or paste rows copied from a spreadsheet. First row is the header: a sku, barcode or variant_id column, then one column per group tag. Up to 2,000 rows per import. Optional pack and max columns set pack size and maximum per order. Columns named product, variant, retail are ignored, so an export can be edited and re-imported. Nothing is written until you review the preview: it marks errors, duplicates and unknown SKUs line by line.
On the Prices page, Export Excel / Export CSV gives you the current product as a template, and List products with group prices shows every product that already has a price so you can find and edit it.

Pack sizes and order limits
On the Prices page (or with the pack and max columns in an import) you can set, per variant, that the quantity must be a multiple of N and a maximum per order. These apply to every customer and are enforced at checkout; the product page shows the rule and adjusts the quantity selector.
Wholesale applications
- Online Store → Themes → Customize → open any page (for example a new “Wholesale” page) → Add block → Wholesale application → Save.
- Signed-in customers fill in company, VAT ID and a message. The customer gets the tag
mikeprice-pendingand the application is stored on the customer record (metafieldmikeprice.application). - In the app, Groups → Wholesale applications: choose the group and press Approve (adds the group tag) or Reject.
Applications can be switched off in Settings → Customer self-service.
Customer price list and quick order
Signed-in group customers can open /apps/mikeprice/price-list on your storefront: every product with a price for their group, quantity tiers, pack sizes, a CSV download, and quantity boxes to add many products to the cart at once. Add the link to your main menu or the customer account page (Online Store → Navigation). It can be switched off in Settings.
Lock the store and minimum order
Settings → Access control. Lock the store replaces prices with a sign-in message for everyone who is not approved (by default: anyone with a price group tag) and blocks their checkout. Minimum order sets a minimum number of items or amount per order. Both are enforced at checkout by a Shopify Function, not only on the page.
How prices apply
- Only signed-in customers with a group tag see group prices. Everyone else sees retail. Visitors who are not signed in see “Log in to see your price” on products that have a group price (can be turned off in Settings).
- A customer in several groups gets the lowest price.
- Product cards on collection, search and other pages show the lowest group price among the product’s variants; the product page shows the price of the selected variant and quantity.
- At checkout the difference is applied as a discount (name set in Settings). A group price above retail is ignored.
- The checkout discount is a Shopify Function and works on every Shopify plan.
The storefront price doesn’t change
- Check the app embed is enabled in the theme editor (step 3 above).
- Make sure you are logged in as a customer who has the group tag.
- Some themes use unusual price markup. In Settings, enter the CSS selector of your theme’s price element (ask us if unsure).
- Home → System check shows what is missing (groups, prices, discount, embed) with a Fix link for each item.
Reporting a problem
Home → Report a problem opens an email to us with diagnostics attached (store domain, app version, settings and the system check; no customer data). Copy diagnostics puts the same text on your clipboard if you prefer another channel.
